My name is Chelsea, and most people just call me Chelsea, though sometimes they get creative and just use "Chels." I created this livejournal under the insistence of my sister, who is leaving for college in a few months. This journal is mainly dedicated to keeping in touch with her, to tell her, in a rather indirect way, about the daily happenings of my life so that we can stay connected even if we don't have time to call. | I have three main passions, the first and strongest one centering on Japan. I have never been to this country, though the only ethnicity that runs through my my vains is Japanese. I grew up in a place where I had more than a decent amount of exposure to this culture and it was only a matter of time before I had my heart set on becoming fluent in its beautiful language, on studying abroad in its homeland for a year. |

My second passion is books and writing. There is nothing so amazing as an author's ability to suck a reader into an entirely different world, to make a person forget the prblems that plague their mind. I adore any author, specifically Jo Rowling, who can create a world that I can get lost in for a few hours every day. Of course, I'm not much of a writer in that sense, but I recieve a certain happiness in pouring my thoughts onto a page whenever it becomes too difficult to contain them all in my head (which happens more than I'd like). | My final, main passion is the movies. They're like books sprung into life. A good movie can change the way you see the world as much as it can pull you out of reality for two (or sometimes three) hours. I've been lucky enough to experience a handful of movies that have melted into my chest and remained there, like warming embers, cheering me when a day isn't as bright as I wish it was. Movies, books, and culture are, I believe, some of the many gifts that God has blessed this world with for our boundless appreciation.
